COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -  USA Fencing is proud to announce that the 2023-24 DEIB Award applications are open.

The DEIB Awards feature the Peter Westbrook Trailblazer Award, the Mariel Zagunis Women’s Advancement Award, the Leszek “Maestro” Stawicki Parafencing Athlete Development Award, and the ASPIRE Award.

Last year’s winners included the Denver Fencing Center earning the Leszek “Maestro” Stawicki Parafencing Athlete Development Award, who is aiming to create more access to parafencing in the Denver area and beyond. The Denver Fencing Foundation was named the recipient of the ASPIRE Award, after covering entry fees and other fees associated with participating in tournaments.

Continuing with last year’s winners is the Valkyrie Fencing Club who was named the Mariel Zagunis Women’s Advancement Award winners, as they are aiming to increase local participation for women in all three weapons. The Peter Westbrook Trailblazer Award went to the West Berkeley Fencing Club where the club is actively working to create a more inclusive environment for BIPOC fencers by ensuring that its members are diverse and representative of the community it serves.
