USFCA announces staff, schedule for 2017 Coaches Academy

La Plume, PA –The US Fencing Coaches Association announces its staff and presenters for this year’s Coaches Academy from July 30 to August 6 at Keystone College, La Plume, PA.

Fencing Masters, including USFCA President Peter Burchard, Olympian and former Coaches College Staff Vincent Bradford, world champion coach Mark Masters, Paul Sise, Jennifer Oldham and Prevot Ariana Klinkov will run the five-day intensive training sessions.

Additional presentations will be made by Olympian/Olympic Coach Dan Kellner, Paralympian and Master Gary van der Wege, Coach Kenny Nopens of Schoolhouse Fencing, US Team Armorer Michael Mergens, Sport Psychologist Dr. Steven Howell, and USA Fencing Staff will round out the cadre. 

This year’s Academy will feature a unique overlapping of sessions, allowing beginning through advanced level camp coaches to participate in the many break-out seminars, also available to the Conference Session attendees participating in the USFCA Annual General Meeting on August 3.

The Coaches Academy is part of the USFCA National Training Program, a professional coaching training program leading towards internationally recognized certifications as Monituer, Prevot and Master. Those interested in attending will have the option to choose from the following sessions:

Moniteur Session *July 30-Aug. 4. 
Advanced (Prevot/Master) Session *Aug. 2-6.
USFCA AGM/Conference Seminar package *Aug 2-4

Attendees have the option to test for USFCA/Academie d’Armes Internationale coaching certifications. USFCA membership, testing prices and protocols are available at www.USFCA.org

Pre-registration is open on askFRED.net under Camps/Clinics. All sessions include lodging and meals on the Keystone College campus. USFCA Members may pre-register before April 15 to receive a $75 discount on Academy prices. Pre-payment is required.
