Club Seminar at the December NAC: How to Start & Manage a Profitable Fencing Club

(Colorado Springs, Colo) – USA Fencing will be hosting two one-hour club seminars on Sunday December 10th at the December North American Cup in Portland, Ore.

Titled How to Start & Manage a Profitable Fencing Club – A Business Guide for Current and Prospective Club Owners and Managers, the seminar will be led by Samuel N. Lillard, an attorney at one of the nation's leading labor and employment law firms and fencing club owner for over 14 years.

Who Should Attend?

This will be an informal practical seminar primarily for those who own, manage or want to start a fencing club. 

What Will We Cover?

  • Am I ready and qualified?
  • How much money will I need to start and where do I get it?
  • What type of entity should I form?
  • What business planning and research will I need to do?
  • How do I find space and review leases?
  • Insurance, flooring, equipment and other capital and operating expenses.

About our Speaker:

Samuel N. Lillard, is an attorney with Fisher & Phillips, one of the nation's leading labor and employment law firms. Mr. Lillard has been a fencing club owner for over 14 years and is the President of Columbus Fencing & Fitness, LLC, located in Columbus, Ohio. He also holds an assistant moniteur rating in saber, foil and epee with the US Fencing Coaches Association, is a FOC rated referee, a fencing parent and an active veteran saber competitor.
