The Ohio State University Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Coach, Fencing. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing high level individual lessons to student-athletes, and managing Epee squad during regular practice while ensuring the safety and well-being of the student-athletes. Prepares student-athletes for NCAA and conference competitions. Develops strategic practice and game plans through the use of video, drills and skill exercises. Provides mentoring and support for the student-athletes. Assists in the selection of team members and recruiting activities in compliance with conference, NCAA, and OSU rules and regulations. Assists the head coach in the coordination of administrative areas of program management including (but not limited to); scheduling of competitions and practices, travel plans, equipment. Monitors academic progress of student athletes; audits information from academic support services, ensures compliance with conference, NCAA, and University rules and regulations. This position works in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced and innovation is encouraged.
Required: Coaching experience and extensive knowledge of the sport of fencing at the intercollegiate level required; Knowledge and experience working with NCAA rules and regulations desired.
Ability to travel extensively during recruiting process required.
