Manage and administer all aspects of the Men’s and Women’s Fencing Programs within University, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations. Head Coaching responsibilities to include but not limited to practice and competition activities, player skill development, recruiting, directing and implementing plans for daily practices and competitions, organizing and administering clinics, mentoring student-athletes, and overall administrative tasks within the operation of the program. Must demonstrate integrity, leadership, a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified students. Promote academic progress of student-athletes on and the off-field. Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire through athletics.
Plan , develop, and administer all facets of the men’s and women’s fencing programs, which include, but not limited to: recruitment and development of qualified student-athletes; prepare and administer budget expenditures related to the operation of the sport; establish and attain goals of the sport program; lead and mentor assistant coaches/program staff to create exceptional academic, training, and competitive experiences for student-athletes; knowledge of/adherence to NCAA Rules, Regulations and Policies as they relate to all appropriate program events; administer all schedule and travel arrangements; participate in fund raising events, promotions, and marketing opportunities associated with the sport; work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel of the Department and University; must demonstrate integrity, leadership, a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified students.
Three to five years of successful intercollegiate coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level required. Strong interpersonal communications skills; computer skills; demonstrated integrity, leadership, and a thorough knowledge of the sport are required. Knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations are essential. Must possess a strong commitment and ability to motivate, teach, counsel, and recruit academically qualified student-athletes who are focused on both academics and athletics. Ability to become CPR and first aid certified.
