The Fencing Center of Chicago is a school dedicated the instruction and practice of the Olympic sport of fencing. We are located in Park Ridge, Illinois and serve the entire Chicago Area. The Assistant Coach will be responsible for coaching and administration of the youth and adult fencing classes, coaching the Chicago University of Laboratory school team, districts and developing a competitive youth traveling team. They will be responsible for overseeing the club during open hours, providing training opportunities for members and supervising open fencing. The Assistant Coach will be available to provide private lessons to meet the needs of members of the club.
Develops and manages instructional programs for all members of the FCC club.
(Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced Classes)
Structured footwork and drills
Grows club membership through development, implementation, and management of successful programs.
Develops and supports a competitive travel team.
Provide all necessary information with parents/guardians of youth fencers .
Coaches, develops, and supports the Chicago University of Laboratory school team, help maintaining the program at a competitive level.
Opens and closes the club, managing the operation of the club during open hours.
Keeps up-to-date on FIE and USFA rules, regulations, and interpretations as well as keeping up-to-date on current trends in the sport.
Assists with administrative duties.
Education and/or Fencing Experience
of teaching and coaching fencing is required. Experience with foil is preferred.
Previous international or national success as a coach or an athlete is a plus.
Fluency in English is required..
Must be able to obtain US Fencing Coach membership (background screening and Safesport training/testing).
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
