Head Coach, Cleveland Fencing Academy (Cleveland, Ohio)

Full Time/Part Time:  Full Time
Start Date: 1/1/2021

Job Description:

Head Foil / Epee Coach for a new club in the affordable and very cultural city of Cleveland, Ohio. We are presently building out a 5,000 sq ft. facility which will have 8 Olympic length strips. There is a lot of interest locally. We already have filled up classes of beginner fencers. We presently have a recognized Sabre Coach and are looking primarily for a Foil Coach, who may/may not be able to train Epee as well. We have a core group of dedicated students, as well as 1 nationally ranked youth fencer.

Responsibilities:

Help lead our club to be very competitive in an increasingly competitive Region 2. We have a large city to draw fencers from, and we will be located in a very central area with easy driving access from every direction. Presently, our fencers compete in nearly all Region 2 events, primarily in Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit, and Columbus. We want to add Cleveland to the map. Just last year, our fencers started going to SYC events with success. We need a good coach to take this great core of students to the next level. Travel is required for this job.

Qualifications:

The applicant has to have coaching experience. All applicants must successfully complete safe sport updates and background checks. Junior experience within a larger competitive club or country's system will be valuable to this position. Foreign applicants will preferably already be approved to work in the US prior to applying. References or demonstrating successful coaching results is helpful in us making a decision.
