Personal: Lu's brother took up fencing 'because he wanted to be a Star Wars Jedi' and she says she tagged along at first and later fell in love with the sport. By age 16, Lu won the first of her six Division I National Championship titles (2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). In 2011, Lu took bronze in the individual event at her first Junior Worlds and won silver in team -- a feat she would repeat in 2012 and 2013 before winning gold in the team event at the 2014 Junior Worlds during her final year of eligibility.
