One Team, One Logo: Meet the New USA Fencing Mark
by Bryan Wendell
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Last December, we invited our community to do something no national governing body had ever asked its members to do quite like this: help choose the logo that would represent the sport.
More than 1,000 of you voted on three options:
- Option A: A bold new version of the logo placing the fencer at the heart of the action, oriented directly toward the viewer.
- Option B: A zoomed‑in version of our current logo, adjusted so it can be seen as both Olympic fencing and Paralympic fencing while keeping a familiar feel.
- Neither option (keeping the dual lockup logo with both USA Fencing and USA Parafencing logos side by side)
Both the Athlete Council and the membership overwhelmingly preferred Option A. And thus, today, we're proud to unveil the new USA Fencing logo.
The new shield was designed to unite everyone in our sport — able-bodied and parafencing athletes alike — in a single, bold mark. The fencer's position was chosen specifically to be inclusive, symbolizing movement, strength and the shared spirit of fencing at every level. The modernized shield honors the heritage of USA Fencing while opening the door to the next generation.
The brand colors remain the same patriotic red, white and blue our community knows well. The typography is clean and confident. And the overall effect is a mark that feels both familiar and unmistakably new.
The new logo becomes the official mark of USA Fencing on Aug. 1, 2026, the start of the 2026-27 season.
That season is a transition period. Clubs do not need to discard existing materials like banners, clothing items, printed materials, etc. Use them until they're naturally ready to be replaced.
Beginning with the 2027-28 season (or earlier if clubs prefer), we'll ask that all clubs use the new logo exclusively on any new materials they produce. The reason is simple: when every club from New Mexico to New Jersey, North Dakota to North Carolina flies the same mark, every fencer who walks through the door for the first time feels like part of something bigger — because they are. Consistent branding across our 750-plus clubs strengthens the sport everywhere it's found.
The full logo package is available today at usafencing.org/logo. You'll find horizontal and vertical versions, multiple file formats for print and digital use, and the complete brand guidelines including color codes and usage rules.
Heading to Portland this summer? Merchandise featuring the new logo will be available for purchase on-site at Summer Nationals. It's the first chance to wear the new mark — and we hope you will.
This logo belongs to all of us. We can't wait to see it at fencing clubs across the country.
