2026–27 and 2027–28 Regional Tournament Calendars Drop: 181 Chances to Fence Close to Home, Across Two Seasons

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Somewhere right now, a fencing parent is doing the math.

They're cross-referencing a tournament schedule against a school calendar, a work trip, a sibling's soccer season, and the slim window of weekends that might actually work. They're doing this in May for events happening next March, and they're still not sure they have enough information to commit.

We see you. And this year, we're doing something about it.

For the first time, USA Fencing is releasing two full seasons of regional tournament calendars at once — the 2026-27 and 2027-28 slates — so families can plan further ahead, coaches can build smarter schedules, and tournament organizers have more certainty as they invest in future events.

Here's what the next two seasons look like.

By the Numbers

The 2026-27 regional season features 90 sanctioned tournaments across 28 tournament weekends, running from Aug. 22, 2026, in Tigard, Ore., through May 9, 2027, in La Jolla, Calif.

The 2027-28 season adds another 91 tournaments across another 28 weekends, kicking off Aug. 21, 2027 — again in Tigard — and wrapping in the spring of 2028.

That's 181 total tournaments across the two seasons, spanning 23 states and representing every corner of the country. No matter where you fence, there's a regional event within reach.

Each region is well-represented:

  • Region 1: 17 events per season
  • Region 2: 14 events per season
  • Region 3: 16–17 events per season
  • Region 4: 18–19 events per season
  • Region 5: 10–11 events per season
  • Region 6: 14 events per season

Why Two Seasons at Once?

We heard you. Families need lead time — for work schedules, school calendars, sibling sports seasons, and, yes, hotel reservations. Coaches need visibility to build out their club's competitive schedule. And tournament organizers invest significant time and resources into event planning, so having more certainty about future seasons helps them invest wisely.

This two-season release is our commitment to making the regional experience more plannable for everyone involved. We'll continue to evaluate this approach and welcome your feedback.

A Note of Thanks

USA Fencing is proud that our Regional Tournament Series is presented by Dwight Global. Their support makes this nationwide network of competitive opportunities possible.

Hosting quality regional events also takes real work, and we're grateful to every tournament organizer whose event appears in these two calendars — and to those whose bids this year weren't selected. Competitive weekends fill up fast, and many strong bids simply didn't find an open slot. We hope you'll bid again.
