USA Fencing to Host Wheelchair Coaching Clinic April 11 in Salt Lake City

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing is pleased to announce its first wheelchair coaching clinic, which will take place Thursday, April 11 at the Salt Lake City Convention Center.

Clubs interested in starting a wheelchair fencing program or looking to take their program to the next level are invited to attend. Taking place from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. in Room 251A, the clinic is free to all attendees.

Sessions will be led by 2017 Wheelchair World Championship Coach Mickey Zeljkovic (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.), former U.S. Wheelchair National Team Coach Les Stawicki (Louisville, Ky.) and Japanese Wheelchair Head Coach Ying Ki. There will also be an adaptive sports and outreach panel as well as a session led by USA Fencing Director of Member Services Bob Bodor (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and Wheelchair Squad Manager Ginny Boydston (Jackson, Miss.) discussing how to overcome barriers clubs face in starting a program.

Lunch will be provided and the clinic will end with a social hour.

To register, click here. Attendees must register by April 4 to be provided lunch. The first 10 people to register and attend all sessions will receive a $200 travel grant that may be put toward the flight or hotel.
