(Colorado Springs, Colo.) - During the month of March, more than 660 USA Fencing ratings were awarded to athletes from 262 clubs.
The Massialas Foundation, Marx Fencing Academy and Manhattan Fencing Center each had 10 athletes earning ratings in March to hold positions among the top 10 clubs with the most rated fencers during the 2018-19 season with 44, 43 and 42 total ratings, respectively. Fencers Club remains atop the 2018-19 list with a total of 74 fencers, followed by Alliance Fencing Academy with 56. Denver Fencing Center and LA International Fencing Center are tied for third at 47.
2019 ratings awarded in February were as follows:
One hundred and 23 fencers earned ratings at the March North American Cup with five of the Y14 champions holding A19s.
Magda Skarbonkiewicz (Portland, Ore. / Women’s Saber) and Skyler Liverant (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Men’s Epee) each renewed As with Skarbonkiewicz claiming her second Y14 NAC title of the season and Liverant winning his first ever Y14 NAC gold. Lenna Choi (Irvine, Calif. / Women’s Foil) upped her B18 with first NAC title. Gold medalists of their respective events, Faith Park (Lorton, Va. / Women’s Epee) and Ethan Xiao (Birmingham, Ala. / Men’s Foil), previously earned A19s in February.
