(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing is pleased to announce that Absolute Fencing Gear® has signed on as a sponsor for three international events to be held in the United States during the 2019-20 season.

In order to help bring the Junior and Cadet World Championships to the United States for the first time in 20 years, Absolute Fencing Gear® will serve as a proud sponsor of the tournament which will be held in Salt Lake City from April 3-11, 2020.

Absolute also serves as both the official national tournament equipment supplier and the national team uniform supplier for USA Fencing.

“Absolute Fencing Gear’s support of USA Fencing and the international events we host has been crucial to their success,” said USA Fencing Director of Marketing Bill Korbus (Colorado Springs, Colo.) “USA Fencing is fortunate to have a patron like Gary Lu and a partner like Absolute Fencing Gear to help fencers at every level participate in the sport we all love.”

More than 1,000 of the best athletes ages 20 and younger from 100+ nations are expected to compete in the tournament which has become a proving ground for future Olympic and World Champions. At the 2016 Olympic Games alone, 77% of individual medalists were past Junior World medalists with eight of Team USA’s nine medalists all having reached the podium at the Junior Worlds.

A previous official supplier for the Junior and Cadet World Championships, the 2020 edition of the event will mark the first time Absolute Fencing Gear® has sponsored the tournament.

In addition to sponsoring Junior and Cadet Worlds, Absolute Fencing Gear® will return as the title sponsor for Olympic qualifiers to be held in the United States this season: the Absolute Fencing Gear® FIE Grand Prix Anaheim, which will be held in California from March 13-15, and the Absolute Fencing Gear® Women’s Sabre World Cup which will take place from Dec. 13-15 in Salt Lake City.

“It has been a great privilege to support USA Fencing and athletes around the world through our sponsorship of both the women’s sabre World Cup and the foil Grand Prix. We are excited to partner with USA Fencing again this year with both of these tournaments serving as Olympic qualifiers,” said Absolute Fencing Gear Founder Gary Lu (Bridgewater, N.J.) “In addition, hosting the Junior and Cadet World Championships in the United States is a rare opportunity and we look forward to supporting this as the best young fencers in the world come to Salt Lake City.”

Tickets for all three international tournaments will go on sale during the coming weeks. Visit www.usafencing.org for more information.
