(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – All USA Fencing members are advised that all coaches must hold a current USA Fencing Coach membership in order to coach a competitor at a NAC, Championship or the July Challenge.

Coach membership requirements include passing the requisite background check and SafeSport course. To purchase or renew a coach membership, visit member.usafencing.org.

Frequently Asked Questions

For those individuals who hold a +CheckEd membership due to also serving in capacities such as referee, bout committee, etc., a coach credential also will be available as long as the +CheckEd member also is up-to-date on background check and SafeSport course requirements.

Credentials will be available for pickup at the October NAC in Kansas City at the registration counter beginning at 7 a.m. on competition days (Oct. 18-21) and from 3-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, prior to the start of competition. Each coach may only pick up his or her own credential and must present a valid government-issued ID at the time of pickup.

Credentials will be valid for the duration of the 2019-20 season. If a coach loses his or her credential, a replacement can be received for $25.

Competitors also will be allowed access to the coaching boxes; however, they must be wearing the athlete wristband issued at the start of the tournament in order to coach teammates.
