(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – In order to continue the growth of high school fencing in the United States, USA Fencing is pleased to announce multiple new benefits to the High School Club membership for the 2019-20 season.

When four or more high school teams from a single league or state join USA Fencing as High School Club members, the cost decreases from $300 per high school club to a flat rate of $1,000 for all of the clubs in the league or the state, regardless of how many teams participate. Through the High School Club membership, every fencer on each team receives the benefits of USA Fencing High School Club membership.

Also new in 2019-20, individuals looking to compete in local, regional or national tournaments for the first time can upgrade to a Competitive membership for $25.

To upgrade, fencers should call the National Office at 719-866-4511.

The head coach of a High School Club Membership will be offered a complimentary Coach membership – which includes SafeSport training and a background check – if he or she is not serving in another role with USA Fencing, such as a referee, division officer, bout committee member or coach of a non-high school club.

For the second straight season, each High School Club head coach will receive four complimentary upgrades to Competitive membership (first-time Competitive members only). If participating in the league discount, the head coach will receive two complimentary upgrades.

High School Club members have the ability to earn USA Fencing ratings at high school competitions, are eligible for the USA Fencing High School All-Academic and All-American Teams, receive a subscription to American Fencing magazine and are presented a varsity recognition certificate.
