June NAC Returns to Richmond This Weekend

Olympic medalists Kelley and Courtney Hurley fenced in the semifinals of the May NAC in Richmond.

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – More than 1,500 athletes from throughout the United States will compete in Richmond, Va. this weekend in the penultimate tournament before the Tokyo Olympic Games next month.

June NAC Competition Schedule and Live Results

Athletes will fence in Division I, Junior and Cadet events during the four-day tournament which begins on Friday and continues through Monday at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the tournament is not open to the public.

Competition schedule is as follows:

Eight qualifiers for the 2021 U.S. Olympic Fencing Team are scheduled to compete in the Division I events in Richmond, including:

  • Daryl Homer (Bronx, N.Y. / Peter Westbrook Foundation / Men’s Saber), 2016 Olympic silver medalist and 2015 Senior World silver medalist
  • Kelley Hurley (San Antonio, Texas / New York Athletic Club / Women’s Epee), 2012 Olympic team bronze medalist and 2018 Senior World Team Champion
  • Courtney Hurley (San Antonio, Texas / New York Athletic Club / Women’s Epee), 2012 Olympic team bronze medalist and 2018 Senior World Team Champion
  • Kat Holmes (Washington, D.C. / New York Athletic Club / Women’s Epee), 2018 Senior World Team Champion
  • Jake Hoyle (New York City, N.Y. / New York Athletic Club / Men’s Epee), two-time World Cup medalist
  • Nick Itkin (Los Angeles, Calif. / Los Angeles International Fencing Center / Notre Dame / Men’s Foil), 2020 Paris World Cup Champion
  • Francesca Russo (Wayne, N.J. / Bergen Fencing Club / Women’s Saber), 2013 Junior World Team Champion

In addition, the lineup in Richmond also will include 21 U.S. fencers who earned podium finishes at the 2021 Junior and Cadet World Championships in Cairo in April:
