The Junior Pan American Games will be held in Cali, Colombia from Nov. 25 – Dec. 5, 2021. Fencing competition is Dec. 3-5.

In May, athletes were asked to register their interest in attending the event and were required to officially register with the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee to be included on its “long list”. Recently the Pan Am Fencing Confederation confirmed USA quota spots for all six weapons (1 athlete per weapon) based on results from the 2020 Jr Pan American Championships.

Of the athletes on the USOPC “long list,” the top one athlete in each weapon will be selected based on point standings published following the 2021 July Challenge in the following order:

  1. Top 24 athletes on the Junior National Rolling Points Standings
  2. Top 12 athletes on the Cadet National Rolling Points Standings
  3. All remaining athletes on the Junior National Rolling Points Standings
  4. All remaining athletes on the Cadet National Rolling Points Standings
  5.  Age-eligible athletes not on any National Rolling Points Standings; these athletes will be ranked according to USA Fencing classification. If ties remain, fencers will be chosen by drawing lots.

*All non-U.S. citizens will be removed from the standings.

Selected athletes and alternates will be required to confirm their attendance at the Junior Pan American Games no later than September 20, 2021. Please direct all questions to international@usafencing.org
