COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Team USA kept the momentum going over the weekend, earning two more medals for the team events — one gold and one bronze.
Men’s Saber earned their gold medal after defeating Korea in their final match. The team of Daryl Homer OLY, Eli Dershwitz OLY, Andrew Doddo, and Colin Heathcock held gold medals proudly.
In Turkey, the Men’s Foil team of Gerek Meinhardt OLY, Nick Itkin OLY, Alexander Massialas OLY, and Miles Chamley-Watson OLY claimed bronze.
We also saw an impressive sixth place finish from the Women’s Saber team, an eighth place finish from Women’s Epee and a 21st place finish from the Men’s Epee team.
The podium finishes for Men’s Saber and Men’s Foil, plus the solid finishes for other Team USA squads, will bolster Team USA’s efforts to qualify for the Paris Olympics.
Congratulations to these fencers and all who competed this weekend. And we can’t forget the teams behind the team — coaches, sports med providers, parents, teammates, clubmates and everyone else who ensures our athletes are at their best month after month.
