The Nominating Committee of USA Fencing is giving notice to the membership that it is currently seeking candidates for four members of the Board of Directors who will serve terms of two years commencing on the first day of September in the year 2013. The Nominating Committee will select twice as many candidates for each position as there are directors to be elected to stand for election by the membership in 2013. The available positions include the following, per USA Fencing’s Bylaws:
· Two (2) At-Large Directors, who shall be voting members of USA Fencing in good standing;
· One (1) Club Director, who shall be a voting member of USA Fencing in good standing who is elected by the membership. To be eligible for selection as Club Director, an individual must have established continuous affiliation with a USA Fencing member club and shall have demonstrated familiarity with the responsibilities of club ownership and operations;
· One (1) Volunteer Staff Director, who shall be a voting member of the USA Fencing in good standing who is elected by the membership. To be eligible for selection as Volunteer Staff Director, an individual must have demonstrated sustained involvement with and expertise in some aspect of national or international level competition or administration and may not be an employee of USA Fencing
To apply for nomination for one of these positions, please submit your resume detailing your education, work experience, skills, and involvement in USA Fencing, along with a cover letter specifying for which position or positions you seek nomination and detailing why you wish to serve on the Board and why you believe USA Fencing would benefit from your service. In addition, all candidates for a position on the Board of Directors must sign a qualifying affirmation.
