Seeded 10th after two rounds of pools, Partridge was one of three U.S. athletes, including teammates Iman Blow (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Kate Northrop (Bridgewater, N.J.), to post 10-1 records.

With the field of 168 cut to 128, Partridge defeated Harriet Rundquist (SWE), 15-8, in her first direct elimination bout and Corina Damashin (ROU), 15-12, in the table of 64.

After a 15-14 loss to Sandra Sulik (POL) in the table of 32, Partridge still had the opportunity to stay in the medal hunt when she moved into the repechage rounds.

As one of only two non-European fencers in the final eight, Partridge went on to fence German Kim Kirschen, but lost the bout, 15-8, and placed sixth overall.

Partridge’s teammate, Kate Northrop (Bridgewater, N.J.) advanced to the table of 16 where she fell to Natalia Ardentova (RUS), 15-7.

Northrop won her first repechage bout over Antonia Poser (GER), 10-9, and defeated Orsolya Balogh (GER), 15-9, in the next round.
