BREAKING NEWS US Mens Epee Team Wins First Ever World Championship Title

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – The U.S. Men’s Epee Team won the first ever gold medal at an FIE World Championships for a USA Men’s Fencing Team in history at the World Team Championships in Kiev, Ukraine on Saturday.

The team of Seth Kelsey (Colorado Springs, Colo.)Soren Thompson (New York City, N.Y.)Ben Bratton (New York City, N.Y.) and Cody Mattern (Colorado Springs, Colo.) defeated the six-time reigning World Champions from France, 44-37, in the gold medal final.

In earlier rounds, Team USA defeated Hungary, 10-10, in the semifinals and Switzerland, 25-24, in the quarter-finals after a 45-24 win over Kazakhstan in the table of 16.
