Tim Morehouse Places 12th at Budapest Saber Grand Prix

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Beijing Olympic silver medalist Tim Morehouse (New York City, N.Y.) earned his best finish of the year on Sunday when he placed 12th at the Budapest Saber Grand Prix in Hungary.

Morehouse qualified for the table of 64 with a 5-1 record in the pools on Saturday.

On Sunday, Morehouse opened with a 15-14 win over 2010 European silver medalist Bolade Apithy (FRA).

In the table of 32, Morehouse dominated Eun-Seok Oh (KOR), the division’s #3 seed, whom he upset 15-7.

Morehouse advanced to the round of 16 where he had a close bout with Diego Occhiuzzi (ITA), but finished 12th after a 15-13 loss.

Daniel Bak (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) and Daryl Homer (New York City, N.Y.) each went 6-0 in the pools, but neither advanced out of the opening round in competition on Sunday.

Bak lost to Oleg Shturbabin (UKR), 15-13, while Homer lost to Xiao Liu (CHN).
