The final two days of the Dallas North American Cup were packed with exciting action as the Division I Men’s Saber, Women’s Epee and Women’s Foil events concluded.
 
On Sunday, the sister act of Kelley and Courtney Hurley reigned in the Div. I Women’s Epee event. Kelley Hurley (22, San Antonio, Texas/NYAC) defeated Courtney (20, San Antonio, Texas/NYAC/NDU) 15-11. Olympic veteran Tim Morehouse (32, Bronx, N.Y./Manhattan FC) took home the Men’s Saber title, defeating Luther Clement (25, Lawrence, Kans./Westbrook Found.) 15-11.
 
In Saturday age group events, Race Imboden (17, Brooklyn, N.Y./Empire United) beat Michael Dudey (17, Bellacre, Texas/Salle Mauro) to win the Junior (Under-20) Men’s Foil event; Gary North (16, Englewood, Colo./S. Denver FA) beat Matthew McGrath (15, Mesa, Ariz./AZFC) to win the Cadet (Under-17) Men’s Epee title; and Margaret McDonald (16, Atlanta, Ga./Nellya) won the Cadet Women’s Saber competition with a 15-13 victory over Desirae Major (17, Olathe, Kans./Culver Acad.).
 
Monday’s Division I Women’s Foil final was almost a replay of the Junior final two days before. Lee Kiefer (16, Lexington, Ky./Bluegrass Fencers) won her second title of the weekend by defeating Nzingha Prescod (18, Brooklyn, N.Y./Westbrook Found.) 12-7. Kiefer won the Junior event by defeating Prescod on Saturday, as well.
 
Kamali Thompson (20, Teaneck, N.J./Westbrook/Temple) won the Junior Women’s Saber event over Erica Zhao (16, Plano, Texas/Dallas FC) 15-8 and Alexander Eldeib (15, Burke, Va./Prince William FA) defeated John Wright(CANADA) 15-11 to win the Junior Men’s Epee.
 
Finally, Gordon Shaul (16, CANADA) beat Gordon Long (16, Silver Springs, Md./DCFC) 15-11 to win the Cadet Men’s Saber event.
 
This fourth North American Cup of the 2010-2011 season was held at the Dallas Convention Center Jan. 14-17. Over the weekend, more than 3,000 of the nation's best fencers competed, plus fencers from around the world. 
 
About North American Cups: NACs held by USA Fencing each year at changing locations around the country. NACs are selection competitions for World Championship teams in the Cadet (Under-17), Junior (Under-20), Senior (Division I), Veteran, and Wheelchair divisions. USA Fencing also holds developmental NACs for Youth in three different age groups, and developmental Division II and Division III events which are open to all ages.
