Day Two Results from Cincinnati

Saturday was a good day in Cincinnati for the Oregon Fencing Alliance as club members Lian Osier (Battle Ground, Wash.) won the gold, Eileen Hassett (Beaverton, Ore.) won the bronze and Sarah Borrmann (Portland, Ore.) took fifth Division I Women’s Saber event.

Olympic veteran Seth Kelsey (Brush Prairie, Wash.) won the men’s epee, the other Division I event held Saturday. Brian Howard (Petaluma, Calif.) won the Division II Men’s Foil.

Four veteran age events were also held Saturday. Elizabeth Kocab (Wellesley Hills, Mass.) won the Veteran 50-59 Women’s Epee, Dianne Kallus (Round Rock, Texas) won the Veteran 60-69 Women’s Epee, and Mary Annavedder (Carlsbad, Calif.) won her second event of the weekend, the Veteran 70+ Women’s Epee.

In the Open Veteran (40 and older) events, Val Kizik (Indianapolis, Ind.) won the Men’s Saber and Anne-Marie Walters (Parkland, Fla.) the Women’s Foil.

Finally, in the Wheelchair division, Tariq Alqallaf of Iraq won the Men’s Foil and Catherine Bouwkamp (Fishers, Ind.) grabbed her second gold of the weekend, the Women’s Foil.
