We held the FIE exam at the Intercontinental Hotel in Houston Texas the weekend of 20 – 21 March, with 15 candidates from the US and Canada. The examiners were two members of the Arbitrage Commission, Marco Siesto from Italy and me from the USA.
We started the day on Saturday with a brief seminar to inform the candidates of the format and answer any last-minute questions. After that, the candidates came in one at a time for their individual exams consisting of oral and video segments. While there was disagreement as to whether it is worse to go first or last, across the board our candidates performed very well.
Their knowledge of the rules, professionalism, demeanor and calls impressed both of us and these qualities combined to create a very high passage rate. Congratulations to all who passed and we look forward to working with you at international events in the near future.
