Geoffrey Loss Places 12th at Udine Junior Saber World Cup

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Geoffrey Loss (Laguna Beach, Calif.) earned Team USA’s top finish in the men’s saber event at the Udine Junior World Cup in Italy on Saturday with a 12th place result.

Seeded 16th after the pools, Loss earned a bye into the table of 64 where the #2-ranked junior fencer in the United States defeated Alessio Cappetta (ITA), 15-9.

Loss followed the win with a second 15-9 victory over Cappetta’s Italian teammate Pierfrancesco Albanese.

Loss narrowly missed the quarter-finals after he dropped his next bout to eventual silver medalist Robin Schroedter (GER), 15-14.
