(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Although St. Maur was the site of the coming out party for the U.S. Women’s Epee Team when the ladies won their first-ever silver medal at a World Cup in 2012, they fell short of returning to the podium in France on Sunday.

London Olympic medalists Maya Lawrence (Teaneck, N.J.), Courtney Hurley (San Antonio, Texas), Kelley Hurley (San Antonio, Texas) and four-time Senior World Team member Lindsay Campbell (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned a bye into the table of 16 as the fourth seeded team, but lost to France, 45-32.

Team USA rebounded to win the next two rounds over Sweden, 45-42, and Switzerland, 32-31.

In the match for ninth-place, the Americans faced Korea – the 2012 Olympic silver medalists who lost to Estonia in the table of 16. Team USA lost the match, 45-36, and finished in 10th place.
