Universal Sports to Air World Combat Games

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Universal Sports Network will show footage from the World Combat Games in St. Petersburg, Russia both on air and online this week.

The two-hour nightly broadcast will be on delay and will show highlights from that day’s sports, including fencing as well as wrestling, taekwondo, boxing, karate, jujitsu and wushu.

Viewers who subscribe to the Universal Sports Network through their local cable providers can watch the coverage both on air (check your local listings for more details) as well as online at www.universalsports.com.

Team USA will have four athletes competing in the second edition of the World Combat Games who were selected to take on a field of 16 of the world’s top fencers.

Team USA’s lineup is as follows:

  • Mariel Zagunis (Beaverton, Ore. / saber), two-time Olympic Champion and four-time Senior World Champion
  • Miles Chamley-Watson (New York City, N.Y. / foil), 2013 Senior World Individual Champion and Senior World Team silver medalist
  • Race Imboden (Brooklyn, N.Y. / foil), 2013 Senior World Team silver medalist
  • Ibtihaj Muhammad (Maplewood, N.J. / saber), three-time Senior World Team bronze medalist

Each weapon will be contested as a one-day single-elimination event.
