(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing has received more than 30 applications from 10 nations for the able-bodied and wheelchair National Team Coach positions.

The USA Fencing Sports Performance Department, in conjunction with the Sports Performance Task Force, is currently reviewing the applications and will schedule interviews for the first week of December.

“We’re all pleased with both the number and quality of candidates who have applied to lead our national teams,” said USA Fencing Director of Sports Performance Seth Kelsey (Colorado Springs, Colo.) “The candidate pool is not only representative of multiple top fencing nations, but includes a wide breadth of coaches from a variety of different backgrounds who are all very enthusiastic about the potential of Team USA to have success at the Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
