USA Fencing is pleased to announce that we have finalized the National Events Calendar for the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons.

“We know that it is important to our members to be able to plan their schedules in advance to coordinate attending and competing at our national events with school and work schedules and one of my goals when I returned to USA Fencing last fall was to be able to give the membership a national events schedule that would take us not just through next season, but also through qualification for the 2016 Olympic Games,” said USA Fencing Director of Operations Christine Strong-Simmons (Colorado Springs, Colo.) “This also will allow our divisions, regional and local event organizers to plan their seasons in advance without worry of future national event conflicts.”

Site locations and hotels will be announced at a later date.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the Division I Nationals so early in 2015?

In 2015, the FIE has scheduled the Zonal Championship in April so we had to find a new temporary date for the Division I Nationals. The weekend that was selected does not have an international Senior World Cup and will allow Division I competitors to fence in this Championship.

Is the Y10/Y12 now part of the Summer National Championships?

Yes, the Youth 10 & Youth 12 events at the Summer Nationals are now championship events.

There seem to be quite a few Division I events. Why were these increased?

The new FIE calendar is certainly challenging for our athletes and so we added an additional Division I event to the NAC schedule. If athletes have to miss a Div I NAC due to a World Cup conflict, there are other opportunities for these senior athletes to compete domestically.

The dates for the summer National Championships are now later in June compared to 2014. Is there a reason behind this adjustment?

Usually, the summer National Championship is over the July 4th holiday and we return to that tradition in 2015 and 2016.
