(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – An undefeated streak that began in 2006 continued on Thursday for the U.S. Women’s Saber Team at the Pan American Championships in San Jose, Costa Rica.

Mariel Zagunis (Beaverton, Ore.), Dagmara Wozniak (Avenel, N.J.), Eliza Stone (Chicago, Ill.) and Ibtihaj Muhammad (Maplewood, N.J.) joined together to win the ninth straight Pan Am Championship team title for the squad.

Seeded first, the Americans earned a bye into the quarterfinals where they defeated the Dominican Republic, 45-31.

Team USA won its semifinal bout against Argentina, 45-25, and Wozniak anchored the squad to a 45-30 win in the gold medal final over Mexico.

The U.S. Men’s Epee Team of Andras Horanyi (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Jason Pryor (Colorado Springs, Colo.), Adam Watson (Richfield, Vt.) and Jonathan Yergler (Long Island City, N.Y.) began the tournament seeded second behind Venezuela.

After a 45-33 win over Puerto Rico in the quarters, the Americans lost to Canada, 45-35, in the semifinals.

Anchored by Horanyi, Team USA finished with a 45-31 win over Argentina to win bronze.
