USA Fencing

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Team USA’s George Haglund (Califon, N.J.) placed 10th on the final day of individual competition at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China on Tuesday.

Haglund, a silver medalist at the 2014 Cadet Worlds, went 2-3 in the pools to advance to the table of 16 where he lost to Mengkai Huang (CHN), 15-7.

The women’s saber individual event also was held on Tuesday; however, Team USA did not have an entrant.

The Youth Olympic Games fencing competition concludes on Wednesday when the mixed team events will be held.
