(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing is pleased to announce that Leslie Winckler (Colorado Springs, Colo.) has been named to the new National Office position of regional manager.

Winckler will be responsible for the coordination and development of USA Fencing’s six regions and 67 divisions and developing new volunteer education and recognition programs.

Prior to assuming her position at USA Fencing, Winckler worked for the U.S. Paralympic division of the U.S. Olympic Committee as a coordinator for the division’s veteran military programs. While at U.S. Paralympics, Winckler organized and executed educational training events for more than 800 military and community participants from 185 different organizations.

“I’m grateful and excited to be given the opportunity to work with our regions and divisions to help grow the sport of fencing throughout the United States,” Winckler said.

In her new role, Winckler will work closely with the Tournament and Youth Development Committees and will be an integral part of the staff of both the national events and membership departments.

"We are very pleased to have Leslie join our team at the National Office. Through her positions at the USOC, she has worked extensively with diverse groups of organizations and volunteers in planning events and creating new programs and will be a great asset to our membership,” said USA Fencing Director of Operations Christine Strong-Simmons (Colorado Springs, Colo.)

A native of Avon, S.D., Winckler earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of South Dakota and will be based out of the USA Fencing National Office in Colorado Springs.
