(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing Member Services Manager Kelly Bowen (Colorado Springs, Colo.) will be leaving her position with the National Office on June 12.

Bowen is returning to her hometown of Chicago in order to be closer to her mother who is in poor health.

“I would like to thank USA Fencing for the opportunity and support I’ve been given during my time as member services manager. I’ve learned so much and met so many great people in working with the members, volunteers and staff,” Bowen said. “It’s unfortunate to leave a position I have truly come to enjoy, but it’s become increasingly difficult to be so far away from family when my mother isn’t doing well. I wish the entire organization continued success and have no doubt that my experiences here will benefit me greatly as I look forward to starting a new phase in my career.”

Bowen joined the USA Fencing staff in 2013 and served as the office’s liaison with clubs as well as managed member programs, including the All-Academic Team, as well as high school and collegiate programs.

“We all really hate to see Kelly go and she will be missed by everyone on staff. We always understand that family comes first, however, and it’s challenging to be so far from home in circumstances like these,” said USA Fencing Executive Director Kris Ekeren (Littleton, Colo.) “From the beginning, Kelly has been a joy to work with and her positive attitude and enthusiasm have been appreciated by all in the office.”

USA Fencing will be opening a nationwide search to fill the membership services manager position as soon as possible.
