USA Fencing Introduces High School Coach of the Year Award

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Continuing its support for high school fencing, USA Fencing is pleased to announce a new recognition program, the High School Coach of the Year Award, for one coach who has showed exceptional to commitment to his or her student-athletes and has positively impacted his or her high school fencing program.

Both head and assistant coaches at USA Fencing High School Member or Affiliate clubs are eligible for selection. Nominations will be accepted from student-athletes, parents, high school administrators and members of the coaching staff. Coaches may receive more than one nomination.

The criteria for selection includes demonstrated skilled management and direction of the program, competitive excellence and an explanation on why the coach is deserving of the honor.

The winner will receive a commemorative plaque and be honored in July on the finals strip at the 2017 USA Fencing National Championships in Salt Lake City.

The deadline to nominate a coach from the 2016-17 season is 11:59 p.m. on May 1st. The nomination form can be found here.
