(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Fencers will have the opportunity to learn from Olympians and World Team members during a series of clinics in foil and épée that will be held during the USA Fencing National Championships and July Challenge in St. Louis this summer.
All clinics will be held at the America’s Center Convention Complex from July 2-5 and will include both training with Olympians as well as opportunities for photos and autographs.
The U.S. Men’s and Women’s Foil Teams will conduct men’s and women’s clinic for youth, junior and cadet fencers (ages 20 and younger).
Both sessions will be capped at a maximum of 50 participants.
The men’s foil clinic will take place from 4-6 p.m. on July 4 with all four members of the world No. 1-ranked U.S. Men’s Foil Team leading sessions, including 2016 Olympic team bronze medalists Race Imboden (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Alexander Massialas (San Francisco, Calif.), Gerek Meinhardt (San Francisco, Calif.) and Miles Chamley-Watson (New York City, N.Y.)
The women’s foil clinic will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on July 5. Clinic participants will learn from 2017 Senior World team silver medalists Lee Kiefer (Lexington, Ky.), Margaret Lu (Greenwich, Conn.), Nicole Ross (New York City) and Nzingha Prescod (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Registration for each of the foil clinics is $200 with all proceeds benefitting the U.S. Foil National Teams.
The U.S. Women’s Épeé National Team will conduct clinics for both youth and veteran participants.
On July 2, Team USA will hold a clinic for veteran epee fencers ages 40 and older from 9 a.m. – noon.
Youth fencers, ages 14 and under, will have the opportunity to work with the U.S. Women’s Épeé Team during a clinic on July 5 from 2 – 5 p.m.
Registration for the epee clinics is $125 with all proceeds benefitting the U.S. Women’s Épeé National Team.
