USA Fencing Names 2017-18 All-American Team

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – USA Fencing is pleased to announce the 2017-18 High School All-American Team, which recognizes the athletic accomplishments of high school fencers during the season.

In the program’s second season, this year’s team recognizes more than 400 athletes from across the country.

High school fencers who have earned or renewed an E rating or higher during the current season are eligible for the All-American Team. They also must be in good academic standing and be a current USA Fencing member.

Divided into First, Second and Honorable Mention Teams, the criteria for teach team is as follows:

  • First Team All-American: must have earned or renewed an “A” or “B” during the current competitive season.
  • Second Team All-American: must have earned or renewed a “C” or “D” during the current competitive season.
  • Honorable Mention Team All-American: must have earned or renewed an “E” during the current competitive season.


All winners will receive a certificate and bag tag.

More than 200 fencers earned First Team honors with épée being the most represented weapon. Twelve high school students made the All-American in multiple weapons.

With 196 clubs represented, Anaheim Hills Fencers Club and Fencers Club had the most selections with 10 each. As a state, California had the most team members, followed by New Jersey, New York and Texas. Thirty-six states were represented overall.
