Cliff Bayer Named to the USA Fencing Board of Directors

(Colorado Springs, Colo.) – Two-time Olympian Cliff Bayer (New York City, N.Y.) has been selected to serve on the USA Fencing Board of Directors to fill a term that begins immediately and concludes in September 2019.

Bayer will serve as one of three independent directors on the board that is comprised of 10 total voting members.

Bayer received both his MBA and undergraduate degrees from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has worked in investment banking for more than 15 years. He joined RBC Capital Markets in 2017 where he oversees aerospace and defense investment banking coverage as a managing director. Previously, he worked with UBS Investment Bank for 14 years, covering the aerospace and defense markets.

One of the most successful foil fencers in USA Fencing history, Bayer represented the United States at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games and has been inducted into the U.S. Fencing Hall of Fame as well as the University of Pennsylvania Fencing Hall of Fame and the Philadelphia Jewish Sports Hall of Fame. Bayer won the first World Cup title for a U.S. men’s foil fencer in 2000 in St. Petersburg as well as the first Junior World Championship medal for a U.S. men’s foil fencer, taking bronze in 1997.
