Program Manager, Fairfield County Fencing Academy (Fairfield, Connecticut)

Job Description:

Fairfield Fencing Academy is currently interviewing for a highly motivated beginner to intermediate managing coach. All foil programs at Fairfield Fencing Academy are thriving with new members coming in weekly. With the 10+ outreaches throughout Fairfield County, CT and the main facility being 12,000 Square feet with 7 fully grounded strips we are looking for a new manager who will work to continue the current club growth trend. The resumes will be reviewed in confidence shortly after, and interview(s) will be scheduled first via zoom and second in person. Position will be filled once the appropriate candidate is found.


  • Working with club owners to manage outreach programs as well as adding additional programs
  • Working with the club owners when additional staff is/will be needed
  • Monthly meetings with owners about growth trends, staff achievements or issues.
  • Ownership of various administrative tasks, including but not limited to:
  • Responding to Inbox/Client emails within 24 hours
  • Scheduling lessons
  • Student activity reports and monitoring
  • Registrations completed before trials lessons start
  • Coaching Responsibility
  • Learn the Fairfield Fencing Academy Squire Program
  • Teach introductory lessons
  • Teach beginner lessons and classes
  • Travel to tournaments and coach developing youth fencers at regional events and national events.
  • Monthly meetings with owner regarding changes that need to be implemented to effectively help students succeed


  • In depth understanding beginner fencing
  • Must want to guide students through a competitive career and give every student their best chance for success at the national and collegiate levels
  • Experience in developing youth fencers
  • Highly energized and a motivator
  • Respectful to all athletes, referees, and other staff
  • Effective communicator & teacher
  • Good listener
  • Displays a passion for fencing and teaching
  • Has passed all USA Fencing and safes port background checks
  • A high School Diploma is Required with 3 or more years of coaching.
