Lead Saber Coach, The Fencing Center (San Jose, CA)

Job Description:

The Fencing Center (TFC), a 15,500 sq ft fencing club in San Jose is looking for the ideal candidate to lead their Saber Fencing program (Lead Coach). TFC competes throughout the west coast and in National
and international events. The TFC program currently offers sabre, foil, and epee.

Every year several of our fencers earn national USFA rankings and get into some of the top colleges in the US. We have had fencers compete at the US Fencing Nationals, Junior Olympics, Olympics and International events. The club is an 8 coach facility, with 16 full strips (11 grounded), is over 35 year old non profit organization. Qualified candidates should have coaching experience, work well in a team, have extensive knowledge of the sport, and experience as a fencer at the collegiate and/or high school level. A background check is required.

Responsibilities:

The lead Coach will lead the Saber Program, and work with the Head Coach. There is a 18 month old Saber program that is open to change and leadership. Important skills we need are strong knowledge of coaching, Saber skills and human development, strategy and fencer development both as a person and as a fencer. Must help with club running activities, club maintenance and upkeep.

Qualifications:

Must have Saber achievements in international competitions.

10 years of coaching experience is preferred.

Maestro is a plus.
Must be Safesport certified and background check passed.
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license
