Job Title: Saber Coach
Start Date: May 1, 2022 or earlier
Job Description: Washington Fencing Academy is the premier saber school on Seattle's East Side. Our mission is to help students develop and enhance their fencing skills in a family-oriented atmosphere that puts as much emphasis on individual and personal growth as it does on fencing aptitude.
Responsibilities:
-Advance the WFA saber perform by establishing strong training and advancement plans
-Instruct at intermediate and advanced classes
-Provide private training sessions
-Have a role in decision-making for the business
-Mentor and/or recruit junior instructors
-Lead, promote and advance the competitive saber program for youth and teens
-Assist in promoting the WFA saber program through on-side classes, summer camps and by outreach to area schools for the establishment of satellite clubs
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 5 years coaching experience
-Proven experience working with children and teenagers
-A college degree in the field of business and/or Sports management and/or other relevant training in fields such as psychology, sports medicine, etc...is preferred but not required
-Strong worth ethic
-USA Fencing coach membership including safe sport training and background check

Additional Information: We are open to working with our coaches regarding scheduling. Our classes currently run in the late afternoons and evenings, M-F and on Saturday mornings.
