Job Description:

Review our webpage at http://www.sfyouthfencing.com for our Programs, Philosophy and Publications. The Halberstadt facility has 11 electrical strips with repeaters, lockers, showers and multimedia for video training. The Halberstadt Sabre program is marketed under the title of SF Youth Fencing.

Responsibilities:

Work in youth development programs for Y10 to juniors. Coaches are expected to demonstrate a willingness to learn and improve by attending tournaments, in-house and outside seminars, and obtaining their USFCA certifications. We will teach you our methods and help you to become certified at any level as a Moniteur, Prevot and/or Master. We work together as a team to apply our successful program for physical conditioning, technical and tactical training. You will give individual lessons along with reinforcing instruction in group drills, fencing fitness training, strip coaching, and coaching in local competitions.

Coaches are not assigned their own students, since there are no conflicts in our style of teaching, students take lessons from various coaches depending on the coaches and students level. Currently we have classes Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons 4-7 p.m. and Saturday 9-3 p.m.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a candidate transitioning from competition to coaching with a positive caring attitude that enjoys working with kids. A candidate with highly competitive fencing experience, domestic and or international is preferred. Active competitors are not discouraged from being a part of the team. Must be comfortable working with a cooperative team focused on the betterment of each student and sustainability of the club.
