Job Description/Responsibilites:  

  • Maintain a safe environment for all fencers and staff 
  • Deliver group classes and private lessons
  • Strip coaching at tournaments 
  • Traveling to local and regional tournaments 
  • Solid understanding of all sports rules and regulations 
  • Work with a team of coaches to provide cohesive training 
  • Lead classes in an energetic and engaging way 
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety 
  • Retention and development of students 
  • Strong leadership ability and positive attitude 
  • Ability to manage your schedule 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with fencers, parents and colleagues 
  • Ability to run portions of our classes including the warm-up, fencing games, club footwork exercises, club drills and supervise or referee structured bouting
  • Provide constructive feedback to fencers and parents
  • Represent Tim Morehouse Fencing club in a professional member

Expectations and Requirements:

  • Professional conduct at all times:  TMFC Coaches must conduct themselves professionally at all times while at the club, on any trips representing the club and during any time when students or members are present
  • Safety Policies and Certifications:  ALL COACHES MUST BE SAFE SPORT CERTIFIED and familiarized with the Club's Code of Conduct
  • USA Fencing coach membership including safe sport training and background check 
  • Excellent knowledge of technical and tactical fencing skills 
  • Minimum 2+ years coaching experience 
  • Communication with clients and fellow colleagues:  All staff members must be available to respond to emails, texts and phone calls within a timely manner from fellow staff and client 
  • Deliver high quality, age appropriate fencing coaching to our athletes at all times 
  • A strong work ethic and integrity of character
