USA Fencing Head Coach: Paralympic Program (Wheelchair Fencing)

Full Time/Part Time: Part Time Contractor Position

Job Description:

USA Fencing is seeking a Head Coach for the Paralympic Program (Wheelchair Fencing).  The Head Coach will contribute to and execute the organization’s High Performance Plan in order to achieve success at the domestic and international levels.  The Coach will report to the Manager of Sports Performance.

The Head Coach, along with the sports performance staff, will develop and execute initiatives to grow the base of Paralympic fencers in the United States.  In addition, the Head Coach will oversee the training of Paralympic-hopeful athletes. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coach USA athletes at designated international and domestic competitions and training camps
  • Provide training opportunities for pipeline athletes and their personal coaches
  • Develop materials to assist with USA Fencing’s Coach Education Program
  • Serve as a presenter at designated USA Fencing Coaching Clinics
  • Provide input to the organization’s High Performance Plan
  • Contribute to talent identification and development strategies to ensure future success of the program

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of international fencing
  • High level of experience coaching Paralympic fencers.
  • Results focused and process oriented
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with the fencing community and belief in a Team USA approach 
  • Visionary capabilities
