Job Description: he Oregon Fencing Alliance (OFA) located in Portland, Oregon was founded in 1982 is a not-for-profit organization to teach the Olympic sport of saber fencing.

We are looking for a skilled administrator, a strong business manager, and a leader with the flexibility and interpersonal skills to interact with coaches, fencers of all ages, and parents.

You will report to the Board of Directors

The job is considered hybrid split between main administration responsibilities from a home office and on site management.

Responsibilities: • Daily administrative tasks such as scheduling of classes and lessons, emails and communications from members, new inquiries, coaches, Board of Directors, community program leaders.
• Fiduciary responsibilities and cost accounting policies for payroll, 403(b) plan management, invoicing, receivables, and budget tracking.
• Marketing campaigns, media communications and fundraising activities.
• Contracting on site and off-site programs.
• Staff travel arrangements.
• Human Resource Policy Management for staff and the organization.
• Risk Management including insurance policies and liabilities, Safe Sport certifications, and management of club policies.
• Oversee and provide leadership and guidance to OFA Coaches.
• Equipment and Facilities management: repairs, maintenance, and inventory control.
• Web site and social media management
• Oversee the organizations’ results and strategic plan accomplishments.
• Projects as assigned by the Board of Directors

Qualifications: The ideal Executive Director will be a self-motivated and decisive manager combining hands-on and daily operational tasks experienced with team management in a corporate or entrepreneurial environment. Adept to be able to interact with coaching staff, members ranging from elementary through high school, collegiate, adult fencers, and parents.

Experience with word documents and ability to create and work with spreadsheets and understanding of financial reports.

Must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Minimum of 3 years experience with managing a fencing club, sports club or youth organization is a plus. Although not a requirement, fencing experience or intimate knowledge of the sport is an advantage.
