Job Title: Fencing Instructor


Type of Position: Seasonal, Temporary

Job Description: Kennolyn Camps is seeking a passionate and experienced Fencing Instructor to join our team for the upcoming camp season. As a Fencing Instructor, you will be responsible for providing engaging and educational fencing instruction to campers aged 8-16 in a safe and supportive environment.
This is a LIVE IN position, early June-August 10th. Food and Housing provided. Pay starts at $5440 for the summer season.


Responsibilities: Plan and deliver fencing lessons that cater to campers of varying skill levels and abilities.
Teach fundamental fencing techniques, footwork, blade work, and strategies to promote skill development and proficiency.
Ensure the safety of campers by enforcing proper fencing equipment usage and supervising practice sessions and matches.
Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect among campers.
Assess camper progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement and mastery of fencing skills.
Collaborate with camp leadership and staff to integrate fencing activities into the overall camp program and special events.
Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of Kennolyn Camps, including promoting character development and personal growth in campers.


Qualifications: Previous experience as a fencer, fencing instructor or coach, with expertise in foil, epee, and/or saber.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate campers.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize safety and implement appropriate risk management protocols.
Enthusiasm for working with children and adolescents in a camp setting, fostering a love for fencing and physical activity.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic camp community, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.
