Frequently Asked Questions and Deadlines

When is the deadline?  
All application materials must be received no later than Nov. 30, 2020.
 
How many people can run?  
The nominating committee will select at least one candidate for each of the two At-Large Director positions. 
 
When will the nominees be announced?
The nominees for each position will be announced on the USA Fencing website no later than Jan. 15, 2021.
 
Who is eligible to vote?  
Any USA Fencing member age 18 or older in good standing as of February 1, 2021 and who belongs to a membership class that includes the right to vote is eligible to vote for each of these positions

How do I nominate a candidate?
If you know someone who would make an excellent candidate for any of the open positions and would like the Nominating Committee to consider such individuals, you may send your suggestions with an explanation of why you think that individual or those individuals should be considered for nomination to Nominations@usafencing.org.

Who is the nominating committee?
The nominating committee is comprised of five (5) members as defined by the USA Fencing bylaws:

  • Terrence Lasker, Elite Coach
  • Molly Hill, National Tournament Official 
  • Kat Holmes, Athlete representative elected by the Athlete Council, Chair of Committee
  • Jimmy Moody, Athlete representative elected by the Athlete Council
  • Sam Cheris, Past President of USA Fencing 
  • Al Kidd, Current Independent Director
  • Kris Ekeren, Executive Director, ex-officio (non-voting) member of the Nominating Committee.
