Meet the rising star with a passion for pink.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — This week's Friday Featured Fencer is none other than Persephone Foss, a 12-year-old saber fencer from Plainville, Mass., who has been making a splash on the fencing scene.

Training at the Fencing Academy of Boston under coaches Vitaliy and Sergey, Persephone has already accomplished a great deal in her young career. And given that she's 12 and has been fencing since age 6, Persephone likes to point out that "I have been fencing for half of my life!"

Persephone has a perfect response for why she loves fencing. It's because, she says, "everything is better in a pink lame."

Her passion for the sport and dedication to making it her own shines through in her style on the strip and in her commitment to always putting her best effort forward.

Persephone's proudest fencing moment so far has been receiving her USA Fencing regional patch, a milestone that showcases her hard work and dedication to the sport.

As she continues to grow and improve, she has her sights set on becoming a highly successful fencer. But she already has some simple yet impactful advice for fellow fencers: "Be yourself and make lots of friends!"

Persephone's dream of becoming a top fencer is undoubtedly within reach, thanks to her passion, determination and the strong foundation she has built at the Fencing Academy of Boston. As she continues to grow and develop her skills on the strip, we'll be keeping a close eye on this rising star with a penchant for pink.
