USA Fencing is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the Super Junior/Cadet Circuit (SJCC) alongside a Division II North American Cup. The tournaments will be held concurrently from June 2–4, 2023, in Raleigh, N.C.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — After more than three years, the wait is over.

USA Fencing is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of the Super Junior/Cadet Circuit (SJCC), a national level fencing tournament for fencers in the Junior (under 20) and Cadet (under 17) age groups.

It’ll be the first SJCC we’ve hosted since the Baltimore SJCC, which was held Feb. 28 to March 1, 2020, and attracted more than 700 talented fencers.

As this SJCC will be held after the qualification deadline for the 2023 Summer Nationals, fencers will be earning points towards qualification to the 2024 Junior Olympics and, if still age-eligible, the 2024 Summer Nationals.

The great news doesn’t end with the return of the SJCC.

We’ve been listening to feedback from our members and will make this tournament even more special by adding a Division II North American Cup

That competition will be a great opportunity for fencers already qualified for Summer Nationals to get some national tournament experience (or even earn new classifications) prior to the National Championships for the category.

These competitions will be held together from June 2 to 4, 2023, at the Raleigh Convention Center in Raleigh, N.C.

Registration opens today (April 4), with the regular-fee deadline set for May 5, 2023. Fencers should register as soon as possible to secure their spot in the competition. Discounted hotel booking is now live as well.

More about the SJCC

The SJCC tournament provides Cadet- and Junior-age fencers with the opportunity to earn national points. Age eligibility for the event will be based on the new post-Junior Olympics birth year ranges. Cadet-age fencers must be born between 2007-2010, while Junior-age fencers must be born between 2004-2010.

More about the Division II NAC

In addition to the SJCC competition, the tournament will also include a Division II North American Cup. This competition is for fencers born 2009 or earlier with C, D, E or U ratings.

Division II fencers will be eligible to earn new classifications based on their performance, with the minimum event grouping being a B3. This means that the top four fencers will be eligible to earn or renew their B classification.

With the return of the SJCC and the introduction of a Division II NAC, this tournament is sure to be an exciting weekend for fencers, coaches and spectators alike. Don't miss your chance to be part of this great tournament!
