USA Fencing to Offer Parafencing Clinics at 2023 Angel City Games

The 9th Annual Angel City Games in Los Angeles will feature parafencing clinics over four days of events.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - USA Fencing is set to offer parafencing clinics at the 9th Annual 2023 Angel City Games in Los Angeles, California.  The Angel City Games are the largest Paralympic-style adaptive sports event in the western United States! This four day event offers clinics and competitions for people of all ages and skill levels who have a physical disability or visual impairment.

Shannon Jolly, USA Fencing’s Senior Manager of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging shared the sentiment “ I’m excited about USA Fencing’s presence at this year’s Angel City Games! This is just the beginning to a long lasting partnership with Angel City Sports to expand the sport of fencing within the adaptive space.”

Parafencing manager, Beth Mahr, also shared “We are so excited to introduce more athletes to parafencing and continue to increase exposure and generate excitement around the sport. In just over five years, parafencing will be back in LA on the biggest stage and the road to the LA 2028 Paralympic Games begins with opportunities like this clinic.”

USA Fencing's parafencing clinics will be led by Gerard Moreno, PLY and Mario Rodriguez, PLY. The clinic will take place on June 29, 2023 at the University of Southern California campus. Times for the clinic will be 1:00-3:00 pm and 3:15-5:15 pm.

The games will also feature an  experience zone that will run on Friday June 30 and Saturday June 31 from 1:30-5:00 pm each day, also on the campus of the University of Southern California.
